Built by Jed, Parkin and Pete, the trail evolved in design as it became obvious that the layout could support bigger jumps than we initially visualized. Construction took place at the ideal time, with Big Sky’s rocky decomposed Andesite soil still shedding spring runoff. Although challenging, this allowed the excavators to heavily compact the soil, which is critical to a large scale build of this sort. By the time finish work was happening, the spring rains had passed and we were able to smooth the final tread in dry conditions.
